My story
Hi, I’m Claire Wormley and I created Burst of Sunshine after my Mother-in-Law was diagnosed with cancer for the third time. I wanted to send her some lovely things which would be useful, but also provide comfort in a difficult time. It was during the first lockdown, so we sadly couldn’t visit and I wanted her to know we were thinking of her.
I looked around, but couldn’t find anything that would provide what I wanted and that didn’t scream ‘you’ve got cancer’. So, I put together a package of things I knew she would love and would be compatible with any side effects from treatment she might experience.
This formed the kernel of the idea, which has now developed into sending people a Burst of Sunshine through the post! I love supporting others and trying to bring a bit of light into difficult times.
I also spent the past decade working at The Brain Tumour Charity, where I met so many amazing and inspirational people, dealing with a cancer diagnosis, both the person themselves and the family around them.
I have created Burst of Sunshine, inspired by so many wonderful people, including Oliver Highway, Kevin Fisher, Rob Ward, Tiffany, Graeme and Joss Rowley-Stark, Alex Bolt and Lewis and Annie Moody. And I hope in time, to be able to share theirs and many more stories in the Sharing Sunshine Facebook group and future podcast.
Do connect with us on Facebook and Instagram and help build a community to support each other.
I am a micro-home run business and would love to send a Burst of Sunshine to someone for you!
Lots of love
Claire xx
